Helpdesk Training Article
This article explains when CEPT agents may need to force submit a Cambridge English Placement Test (CEPT) and provides step-by-step guidance on how to do this in Metrica.
Please note that force submitting a test should only be used as a last resort, please see below guidance before proceeding.
What your candidates should try before you force submit a test:
If a candidate encounters an issue with CEPT, such as the internet dropping, the candidate should log back in and finish or close the test whenever possible. If you do not know their log ins, the candidates should:
- Contact you, as their agent, to ask for their log in details. This may be required where generic logins are used and a candidate does not know their permanent username.
- Alternatively, candidates can check their inbox (if they used their email address as username) and click on the link to complete their account set-up. They should check their junk/spam folders.
You can locate a candidate's login details by following the guidance here.
When agents can force submit a test:
On occasions where candidates are unable to login following an issue, as explained above, you can force submit the test for them.
You may also force submit tests after the test day, on occasions where you believe a candidate has completed a test, but you are unable to generate their results by using the CEPT Test Report. Force submitting the test may resolve this.
Please see instructions below on how to force submit a test.
