Helpdesk Training Article
This article explains how results for the Cambridge English Skills Test are reported and how to generate the Candidate Test Result Report.
Reporting of Results
The reporting range for the test is A1 to C1 on the CEFR and 80 to 180 on the Cambridge English Scale.
- The top score a candidate can achieve is 180+, which means that they are C1 or above on the CEFR scale.
- If a candidate achieves a Cambridge English Scale Score of between 80 and 99, their Results Report will show a CEFR score of Below A1.
- Any module where the Candidate scored below 80 on the Cambridge English Scale is shown as Not Reported. Not reported scores will be counted as zero on the Cambridge English Scale.
- If more than 1 part of the Speaking test is unmarkable, the module will show as No score available.
- If too few items were answered before the test timer stopped for the Reading and/or Listening module, the module will show as No score available.
The Result Report will also show any modules that have not been taken (Not taken) or where a result is still pending (Pending). Disqualified results will not show on the Result Report.
The Candidate Result Report shows the average CEFR and average score achieved, as well as a breakdown by the individual module Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing.
- Any results that are Not Reported are included in the average score with a value of zero.
- The following are not included in the average score:
- unmarkable responses
- pending results
- unattempted or not taken modules.
If a module has been taken more than once the Best Score will be shown in the Result Report.
Generating the Candidate Result Report
1. Log into the Cambridge English Test Portal, Metrica
URL: https://www.metritests.com/metrica
2. Click on Reports.
3. Select the EST Test Report from the list of available reports.
4. Adjust the Start Date, if required, and select the Date Range from the drop down. Ensure you select the correct Variant (Schools, General or Business) and the Location (Venue) for which you want to generate Test Reports.
Once the Location has been set, the Session drop down will show all sessions for that Venue for which Results are available. Select the required session.
You can now either click View Report to generate all Test Reports, or you can narrow it down further by Login, Candidate Name or Candidate Number.
5. The Test Reports are generated and can be downloaded (recommended file format PDF).
Examples of Results Reports

Back:
In the following example the candidate has scored below 80 in their Writing test (Not Reported) and has not answered enough questions in their Reading test (No score available). Note the low average score, which includes the zero score for the Writing test.
The following example shows a Results Report for a candidate whose Reading result was disqualified. The column for the module is greyed out.
Including a logo on the Result Report
If the Institution or their Client or Schools have a logo uploaded to their Metrica account, this will be displayed on their Candidate's Test Result Report.
- If only the Institution has a logo uploaded to their account then the Test Result Report will show the institutional logo.
- If the Client or School has been set up with a logo in Metrica then the Test Report will show the Client's or Schools' logo for their Candidates (if the test session was set up for the Client/School).
For more information about logo uploads, please see this article.
Re-sitting a module and My Best Score
Candidates can re-sit any module of the Cambridge English Skills Test to try for a better result. This means they don’t have to re-sit all four skills if they want to achieve a higher mark, for example, in Writing. Instead, they can concentrate solely on improving the skills they need. They can do this immediately, or after having studied further. A candidate can re-sit any Cambridge English Skills Test module as many times as they want.
The Result Report is generated with the best score the candidate achieved in each module and therefore may show several test dates.
Important:
For the result of the re-sit to be linked to the original test, it must be taken with the same login. It's also necessary for the candidate to sit the components under the same Institution ID/centre number (e.g. GB100).
