Cambridge English no longer sell or support the BULATS and IELTS online preparation courses run using Fronter. If the configuration tips below do not resolve your issue, please speak directly to your course provider. Course providers should refer to Cambridge University Press.
If you're taking an online course using the Fronter learning management system, you'll need to configure your web browser to ensure that all elements of your course work correctly.
If you're having problems with your course, especially with playing audio or video content, you should make sure that you have followed all of the steps below.
1. Ensure your browser is up to date
Fronter supports the two latest production versions of the following browsers (on a desktop/laptop computer):
- Mozilla Firefox (recommended)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE10 and IE11 only)
- Safari (for Mac OS X)
We recommend against the use of Google Chrome to run courses in Fronter. It is also not possible to run courses on Fronter using a smart phone, iPad or other tablet.
2. Download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player and enable it
The latest version of Adobe Flash Player can be downloaded here: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

3. Enable pop-ups within your browser
Online courses in Fronter open in a new window, so it will be necessary to enable pop-ups in order to run your course. Browser-specific instructions for enabling pop-ups can be found below:
4. Install Java
Some elements of some courses require Java to run. You can download the latest version of Java here: https://www.java.com/en/download/help/download_options.xml
If you're still having problems with your course after trying all of the steps above, please speak to your course provider. If you are a course provider, you will need to speak to the organisation that sold you the course, most likely Cambridge University Press.
